Parody Of The Good ol Hockey Game

Oh, the fans will come

with their jerseys on

colored in Toronto blue.

And they watch this game

near the Hall of Fame

but there's not much they can do

'Cause the puck, they drop

and they play like slop

It's enough to make you scream

And the puck, they loft

right past Raycroft!

Beats the bad old hockey team!

Oh! The bad old hockey team

makes you wish it was a dream

But it's real and not a dream

It's the bad old hockey team.

Oh, old Mats Sundinhe

don't use his bean.

Got the stats, but not the win

And Bryan McCabe

million-dollar babe

makes an "own goal," major sin.

Tomas Kaberle

overrated, he.

They're all running out of steam.

The Toronto Sun

columns by the ton

rip the bad old hockey team

Oh! The bad old hockey team

makes you wish it was a dream

But it's real and not a dream

It's the bad old hockey team.

Oh, the poor old sports reach their town's airport

See its name, and how it hurts

'Cause the team ain't wonsince Lester Pearson

was a live Prime Minister.

The Canadiens they might win again.

Even Ottawa can dream

But you'll catch some grief with the Maple Leafs

They're the bad old hockey team

Oh! The bad old hockey team

makes you wish it was a dream

But it's real and not a dream

It's the bad... old... hockey... team!

Stompin Tom Quote

If you don't believe your country should come before yourself, you can better serve your country by livin' someplace else.

Canadian Songs

Connors' music is rarely heard outside Canada, with the possible exception of his anthemic "The Hockey Song" which has been recorded by many artists. It has been suggested that Connors refuses to allow foreign release of his material.

Favorite guitar

Tom's favourite guitar was a Gibson Southern Jumbo acoustic. He purchased in 1956 while on his way through Ohio to Nashville. He discovered it in a furniture store, hidden in a case on the top of some shelf, and after some haggling, purchased it for $80. The guitar was used to audition in 1964 at the Maple Leaf Hotel in Timmins.Although retired in 1972, it remains in his possession.
